Like
much of Greece during the summer months, the weather can
be very hot in Pelion. However, in the mountainous villages,
the temperatures do drop a little, which can be a welcome
relief.
Pelion
is lucky enough to have been blessed with some of the most
beautiful beaches in all of Greece. Every year, thousands
of people arrive in Pelion, to enjoy the beaches and sea,
which are amongst the cleanest in all of Greece.

|
There
are beautiful beaches all around Mount Pelion, but probably
the most popular are on the East and South coasts of Pelion.
In the village of Tsagarada, there are two of the most famous
beaches in Pelion, Fakistra and Milopotamos. These two beaches
are visited by many people every year.

As
well as beaches, Pelion is also able to offer it's visitors many
over activites during the summer months. There are many lovely
spots around the coast for fishing.
As
well, Pelion is a very poopular area for walkers. There are cobble-stoned
paths, as well as rough tracks, that can take people on stunning
walks around the area. Walking around Pelion is an ideal way to
be as close to nature as is possible, as well as being able to
move with ease from neighbouring villages.
All
over Pelion, you will find old traditional mansions, fresh water
springs, huge trees, as well as several museums and other places
of interest.

It
is up to the individual how much they want to do or seem, but one
thing to remember is that Pelion always has something new and unique
right around the next corner. Whether is be a walking paths leading
amongst the dense overgrowth or a view from one of the many high
spots on the mountain, you can and will always find something to
spark an interest inside. |
Of
course, there are those who like to take it easy on their holidays,
and spend as much time relaxing as possible. Pelion is a very
popular destination for camping, and there are several campsite
in the region.
Another
activity that you can part in is one of the many horse riding
tours of Mount Pelion. These are organised with professional horse
trainers and guides, and it a fantastic way to exploring Pelion.
There
is also the famous steam train of Pelion, which takes you on a
magical journey through the mountainous villages, and allows to
to sit back, and travel in a way that has long since been replaced
by motor cars.

Summer
time in Pelion is always a fun time. Cafe bars scatter the beaches,
cruise boats can take you on journeys around the Pagasitic Gulf,
and also to the nearby islands of Skopolos, Skiathos and Alonissos.
There is plenty of shade from the hot summer sun, as well as the
cool refreshing sea waters. Summer is Greece, and summer in Pelion
makes your holidays just that little bit more unique. |
