AGRIOLEFKES - THE SKI CENTRE OF MOUNT PELION

During the winter months, many visitors decend onto Mount Pelion to take part in winter sports and ski on the famous slopes of Agriolefkes.

The ski centre, located at an altitude of 1500m is highly regarded as one of the best international standard ski centres.

The Agriolefkes ski centre was one of the two first ski centres to operate in Greece. It is easily accessible from Volos (27km) and from Portaria (12 km).

The ski slopes of "Thetis", "Panorama", "Falconera" and the "Amateurs" all combine to make a total length of 5000m. There also an additional slope for "strength" and two circluar slopes, which total 3000m in length.

At the Agriolefekes ski centre on Mount Pelion, there is a ski school which is open for beginners and youngsters. If you have never skied before, you can have some lessons here before you hit the slopes for the first time.

The ski centre is a very popular winter destination, and here you will find a wide variety of people of all ages, who have come together for their love for ski and winter sports. One of the first things you will experience here is the friendly atmosphere amongst people.

As well as basic ski, there are also options for the more adventurous. The is the downwards descent, an uneven slope, snowboarding and even mountain artillery ski. This takes places on the eastern road, and finishes down at the coastal village of Agios Ioannis.
At the Agriolefkes ski centre on Mount Pelion, there is also shelter available which has 80 beds, as well as a restaurant and coffee bar, where you can enjoy a meal or drink whilst taking a break from the days activities.

Though there are several ski centres around Greece, and many more in Europe, it is hard for any of these others to be able to match the stunning views that are on offer at the Pelion ski centre.

With views looking out to the Pagasitic Gulf as well as the Aegean sea, the pure delight of these views makes it a delight to both take part in winter activites, but to also be able to enjoy the stunning and unique surroundings.

The fun doesn't stop during the summer wither. The resort is also popular for mountain biking, enduro, cross rides and 4x4. Again, whenever you visit Pelion, there will always be something that you can take part in and enjoy.
